She Says

One silver dollar buys his confidence, she can buy her temprament
She stubs her toe by accident
When it still hurts he covers his mouth and shrugs concern
Turns up the television
Bottles of something strong for the drinking late
For somethings breaking, somethings breaking down
He's watching her go down
Watching her go down
She says she doesn't wanna be around
She doesn't wanna be around
She calls a taxi
Thought there was money in her half
And a pocket full of gum and tattered poetry
And wonder if the room leaks half as much as this street
Walks in the middle of the road, like a building
She's got a problem with authority and anything she can drink
But she can't say no to fans
I can't stand a civilised world, no instinct for her survival
We are watching her go down
We are watching her go down
She says she doesn't wanna be around
She doesn't wanna be around
She says she doesn't wanna be around
She doesn'ty wanna be around
She says being human is so hard
