Grand Isolation

Upon the peak of the black mountain,
I raise my head to the constellations
Lonely, the height of the true King,
With all this world before me Though highborn knights have sought thee,
I have journeyed unto shadow---
Only to find my throne,
Of grand isolation
And further Nightward still,
Into the whir of this black energy
The breath leaveth my body,
And I shed mortality
What lie below me now,
Is but a dim and distant dream
I shake the dust of centuries,
And reap the sky with open wings
Upon the peak of the black mountain,
I raise my head to the constellations
Lonely, the flight of the true King,
With all this world beneath me
Though highborn knights have sought thee,
I have journeyed unto shadow---
Only to find my throne,
Of grand isolation
