Call You Tomorrow

All the boys have finished shaving
And they can't wait any longer
So they jump into their cars
And they drive away

The girls have finished phoning
Finished phoning one another
They're just dreaming of a stranger
With a kind word to say

The sun won't seem to go down
The kids can't seem to grow up
They sit aside a house
On their front wall

And all the passers-by
Won't look them in the eye
They're trying to ignore
All the names they call "heaven"

Hey, you cut behind the gardens
You know there's something special
On in the air

A fine fragrant feeling
The kind that you remember
The kind that only happens

Once or twice a year

TVs blare through open windows
From families that you know
I think about the night
Then I think about you

But you may not be at home!
Already on the phone!
Or laying in the arms of somebody new!

So I call you tomorrow
Will you be there?
If I call you tomorrow
Will you even care?
If I call you tomorrow
Will you whisper my name?
If I call you tomorrow
Will it be the same?

If I call you tomorrow
Will you be there?
If I call you tomorrow
Will you even care?
If I call you tomorrow
Will you whisper my name?
If I call you tomorrow
Will it be the same?
