Eine kleine Episode um was klar zu stellen, denn Katzen machen viel zu viel Gebell um diese Welt. Da war dieser eine Katzer, genannt Fritz, der am Liebsten auf der Veranda in der Sonne lag, Mäuseschenkel fraß, und in Gedanken bei Muschi, der meist sexyisten Kätzin war. Aber all die Kätzinnen standen auf Schirkan, dabei wußte jede Kätzchen, Schirkan stellt Übel dar. Keine Kätzin die er nicht mit auf seine Couch nahm, kein Katzer der auszog ihn zu fordern und zurück kam. Dem müssen wir ein Ende machen, beschloß der Rat der Weisen, und wie üblich in Katzenkreisen lies man die Würfel entscheiden. Und wie das Leben spielt, Fritz warf die Eins und verlor. Kein Zurück! Aufgehetzte Katzer schoben ihn vor. Aber es gibt Stärkere und Klügere als mich, schrie der entsetzte Fritz. Warum ausgerechnet ich, ich versteh' es nicht.

Zum Abschied schmissen Katzen für Fritz ein Fest. Für Kätzinnen gabs Sekt, für Katzer Kätzinnen ins Bett. Und die Weisen Alten überreichten Fritz ein Amulett, daß die Rückseite irgendwo es zeigte: "Zerschlag es an einem Stein, und Hilfe kommt!" sagten sie dazu, "Aber es geht nur ein Mal, überleg gut wann du es tust." Und Fritz zog los, quer durch Schirkans Revier, wie im Horror-Wald, ihm wurde heiß und kalt. Und bald erschien im Schirkan in seiner ganzen Schrecklichkeit, und was Fritz jetzt noch helfen konnte, konnte nur ein Wunder sein. Als von irgendwo aus ein Stein geflogen kam, das Amulett traf, es zerbrach und die Prophezeihung wurde wahr. Dem Stein folgend, schmiß sich Hilfe auf Schirkan, pakte ihm am Hals und bannte so die Gefahr. Fritz erkannte die Chance als er den Stein aufnahm und dann erschlug er den Tyrannen mit einem einzigen schweren Schlag. Die Hilfe lies den Toten aus dem Würgegriff. "Ob das kein Fehler war, weiß ich nicht." meinte sie zu Fritz, "Aber seit dem allerersten Tag ist es das gleiche Spiel, und jetzt komm her zu mir und ich erklär es dir."

"Du mußt wissen", hörte Fritz die Hilfe sage,"es gibt hier nicht einen Stein um das Amulett zu zerschlagen. Also hab ich selbst einen geworfen, von irgendwo aus, und hab selbst das Amulett zerbrochen und nun paß' gut auf: Der Plan war, Schirkan sollte auf nichts verzichten, seinen Spaß haben, dich vernichten, um bei euch Katzen den Haß auf all das, wofür er steht, zu schüren, was es wiederrum den Alten Weisen leicht macht, euch Katzen zu führen. Es geht hier um Schatten und Licht, und um das Gleichgewicht. und darum, daß du das Eine niemals ohne das Andere kriegst. Weil das Eine aus dem Anderen entsteht, und fehlt das Eine sind auch die Tage des Anderen gezählt." Fritz' Körper vibrierte, als er langsam kapierte, und seine Augen blitzten während er Schirkans Blut in seinem Gesicht verschmierte, und wie in Trance trat er den Rückweg an. Und zu hause wurder lügnerisch-trügerisch mit offenen Armen empfangen vom Rat der Weisen. "Ihr Scheinheiligen" zischte Fritz, "Tut mir leid, aber es geht hier um das Gleichgewicht." Und dann setzte er die ganze Scheiß-Stadt in Brand, krallte sich Muschi und verschwand als Schirkan in Schirkans Land.
