I woke up this morning, the sky was blue
Gonna take it easy, got nothing to do
Ain’t going to work, no bills to pay
It’s a perfect day

Then I slipped on the soap as I got in the shower
I turned on the lights, but there was no power
Could this happen to me? is this starting to be

We can send a man up to the moon, a satellite to mars
We’ve got microwaves and ladyshaves and supersonic cars
There’s so much money in your pocket it don’t matter who you are

I went for a drive but I wasn’t alone
Too many people jamming the road
I’m gonna be late, I declare a state

Yeah, we can climb the highest mountain, tunnel right under the sea
We got mobile homes, mobile phones, digital pay tv
With all this technology we think that we are free
