Es ruft im kahl' Gest allein,

Im trumen wag' ich, tauche ein,
in ihr Gesang von meinem Fall

Die Nachtigall schreit im Gest,
ihr traurig Lied nun in die Nacht
Es mich nicht mehr erschaudern lsst,
da meine Seel' nie mehr erwacht

At stony remnants of old ruins
