As that vale in whose bosom the bright waters meet
Oh, the last rays of feeling and life must depart,

That beheld the proud Hudson and Erie allied
Oh, the last sands of time from his glass shall descend

3 Yet it is not that wealth now enriches the scene
Where the treasures of heart and of nature convene
It is not that this union our coffers will fill;
