On the window pane lies a steel bird cage
And in that cage swings a little yellow bird
And as it tweets
It stares outside as it swings back and forth
And the look in it's eyes tell you that you're worth
To be a friend
A friend so sweet

You look at time as it passes by
Watching the world go by and by

Birds are flying in the skies
Looking at how high they fly
I feel inspired
Like there's fire inside of me and
See the way they soar up high
The sight of them such a delight
They're so in sync

Even when the snow falls in December
Even when the sun's so hot in summer
The bird just sings
Sometimes my grandma would do some cross-stitch
Beside that bird she sits there all day long
All day long

You go for a walk sometimes
And you look up to the big white sky and

Birds are flying in the skies
Looking at how high they fly

I still remember it though I never saw it go
I left my hometown and I just went back now
But when I looked for it
It was not there anymore
